The military on Wednesday arrested a state radio broadcaster on Wednesday, saying it serves the state of the criminals around the leader. However, the army said it was not a public takeover of power.
"We are targeting only criminals who have committed crimes that cause social and economic problems in the country to bring them to the face of justice .... Any provocation will be found with an appropriate response," said Chief of General Staff Major General SB Moyo in the program broadcast on Wednesday morning.
General Zimbabwe's Army, Constantino Chiwenga, threatened on Monday that the army could "intervene" to protect the positions of ZANU-PF members in the authorities fighting for the end of British rule in Zimbabwe.
His comments have been seen in response to the resignations of Emerson Mnangagwa, vice president of Mugabe, former defense and security minister who fought in the UN.
He saw the handbag as a tricky way for Mugabe's wife, Grace, to succeed her husband, which is not good with some politicians.
Mugabe photographed the Zimbabwe Herald State, along with military chiefs and South African officials, as negotiations for his resignation continue.

Zimbabwe's intelligence reported by Reuters also suggests that Mnangagwa had established a vision after Mugabe for more than a year with the army and the opposition.
