The presidential media team, in the upcoming book, provides a profound insight into how the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari blocks corruption deficiencies in public institutions in the country.
The book titled "Making Steady, Sustainable Progress for Nigeria’s Peace and Prosperity: A Mid-Term Scorecard on the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration,” should be launched in Abuja on November 16.
In a 348 pages publication, the team notes that, in addition to arrests and searches of suspects, the Buhari government strengthens public institutions in responsibility and transparency.
The book explores the measures taken by anti-corruption agencies, and in particular the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in this respect, over the last two years.
This includes conducting a study and review of the system in ministries, departments and agencies and Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA) in different sectors of the national economy.
This suggests that the education, health, water and aviation sectors, as well as e-government platforms, including the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS), used the CRA exercise.
The exercise, he added, has led to the recognition of weaknesses in systems that create opportunities for corruption.
As a result, the Commission has developed integrity plans to address disadvantages and improve the system integrity profile for efficiency and effectiveness, the report states.
The book promises to wipe out the cynicism of many Nigerians who believe that the government of Buhari is bigger than proactive in the fight against corruption.
However, the publication contains events registered by the ICPC in the area of condemnation and recovery of assets and assets looted since the establishment of the Buhari Government on May 29, 2015.
The book was edited by Femi Adesina, president of a special media advisor; Garba Shehu, Senior Assistant Speaker in Communication and Advertising, and Laolu Akande, Special Assistant to President, Media and Advertising (Vice President's Office).
The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) contributed to the release, with a note written by the president himself.
The book will be presented by APA's national leader, Tinubu Bola, and reviewed by Tony Momoh.
