Difference between Android One and Android Go is a serious thing most people want to know. It seems a bit confusing, but keep in mind that the Android Go is an operating system, and Android One is Google's operating system also.

Difference between Android One and Android Go

What's Android One?
Android One is originally launched by Google to target low-end users but it is now mostly found on midrange or higher phones. Hence, that was the reason Android Go was launched. However, any app or product launched by Google for low-end users are always named "Go". For example, the YouTube Go, Gmail Go, e.t.c.

Specifically, Android One receives update directly from Google. The Android One operating system (OS) is more targeted to OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) that cannot produce their own software. So, they make the hardware (physical parts) and get software (Android One) directly from Google and Google provides updates and security patches to this phones over a period of the agreed time. No skins!

For example, just like the Infinix Note 5. Infinix Mobile partnered with Google to get the Android One operating system (OS) for their mobile phone. They have agreed with Google to send updates, security patches and other relevant features to the mobile phone. Infinix Mobile will have to pay for the software (Android One) they got from Google for the agreed time.

What's Android GO?

The Android Go is the lighter version that is designed specifically for low-end users. It comes pre-installed with Google apps like Gmail Go, YouTube Go and among others, which are lighter and consumes less resources.

Google give the operating system (OS) software to an OEM like Nokia or Infinix smartphone manufacturer and then, Nokia has to release the update when they are pushed out by Google.

What's the difference between Android Go and Android One?

Basically, Android One software are gotten by smartphone manufacturers or OEMs from Google. The updates are received directly from Google. Like Nokia (assuming is the smartphone manufacturer) don't have to push updates, because Google is responsible for the updates and the wellbeing of the software or OS. So, the update come from Google directly to the phone users and not from the phone manufacturer to user.

But in the case of Android GO, the software is also gotten from Google but the smartphone manufacturer or OEM is responsible for sending the updates from Google to users. The update won't come directly from Google to user, but from OEM or the phone manufacturer to user.

In conclusion, the difference between Android Go and Android One is unlike Android One, Android GO doesn't come directly from Google but from the phone manufacturer.
